Greetings IFAST Membership and Participants, This letter is a response to inquiries received from IFAST participants regarding the scheduling of the next IFAST general meeting (IFAST #26) as well as the status of the lawsuit brought by ATIS in February, 2005. Following the US District Court's ruling on May 26th, 2005 that IFAST is independent from ATIS, IFAST was quite optimistic about resolving the matter quickly and thus conserving industry resources. Unfortunately, attempts by IFAST to expedite a resolution to the lawsuit through formal mediation did not succeed. We are proceeding to a jury trial sometime in the fall of 2006. The May 26th ruling is still available on the IFAST website: http://www.ifast.org/LegalIssue.htmOur focus during this time of constraint will remain on supporting the administration of SIDs and IRMs to ensure that the databases remain intact and accurate. IFAST is working several issues regarding IRM and SID conflicts as well as performing regular assignment and maintenance activities. A representative of IFAST, Ed Hall, is presenting at a March 2006 CDG International Roaming Team meeting in Mexico, providing similar information to what was presented to an IA450 meeting in Prague last October. The IFAST Board of Directors is faced with significant resource issues due to the ATIS lawsuit. Until the lawsuit can be resolved, the Board has voted to suspend face-to-face meetings. We regret having to take this action since much work is accomplished at these meetings. We anticipate returning to our traditional meeting schedule as soon as possible upon the conclusion of these legal issues. Several IFAST members and participants have come forward to express their support of IFAST, and we thank them for this. If you have any questions about IFAST, or the legal issues or how you can help, please feel free to contact us (http://www.ifast.org/Staff.htm). I, along with your entire Board of Directors, would be happy to answer any questions that you might have.Sincerely, Bernardo Martinez
